Press release
Pristina February 2 –
The Governing Council of the Chamber of Nurses, Midwives and other health professionals has held an emergency meeting expressing dissatisfaction with the value of the coefficient but also the categorizations that have been made with the Salary Law for the nursing community.
In this meeting, it was said that none of the requests of OIK representatives regarding the categorizations have been taken into account while the value of the coefficient is extremely low.
Thus, this is an underestimation of the education and engagement of nurses, a category which is also more predisposed to leave the country.
Therefore, the members of the Governing Council of OIK have decided to give time to the Government to reflect and, in addition to this payment, the allowances such as stipends and custodianships, which must be inviolable, remain in force.
The KD of the OIK appeals for the last time to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo that, in addition to the execution of salaries according to the new Law, not to interrupt the allowances and other allowances in any way. Otherwise, the great dissatisfaction within the community from the unequal treatment according to the education levels and the low value of the coefficient will lead us to seek constitutional legal actions that may even question the Law itself.
With respect
Governing Council of the Chamber of Nurses, Midwives and Other Health Professionals
